Hawkman in Smallville "Salvation"

Hawkman made an extended cameo on the Smallville season 9 finale, "Salvation," which aired this past Friday the 14th.  Joining him in cameos were Stargirl, Cyborg, Martian Manhunter, and Black Canary.
When General Zod's Kandorian forces attacked and defaced landmarks all over the world, including the Great Wall of China, the Great Pyramids, and the Washington Monument, Chloe Sullivan dispatched her network of heroes to invesitage.  In Giza, Hawkman found "nothing but mummys" and advocated a pre-emptive strike against Zod.  Green Arrow said that was a great idea if he wanted to get slaughtered, to which Hawkman said "Big surprise, Mr. Green Jeans is yellow."  Clark Kent eventually talked Hawkman into letting him take care of the Kandorians, telling him that while his powers allowed him to come back to life, the others who would lose their lives in such a battle would not.  Clark told the assembled heroes to be ready, and that once he was gone the world would need them to protect it.

Considering he got one scene and that was on a viewscreen from a remote location (of course he got sent to Egypt), I thought this was a good Hawkman appearance.  Michael Shanks still looks and sounds like the modern Carter Hall, and the bickering bewteen him and Oliver was nice.  I can very much see Hawkman advocating this strategy -- give him a kryptonite mace and he'd take out more than his share of Kandorians, methinks.  As a side note, we don't see his wings but we do get a glimpse of him putting on his helmet.

Overall this was a really good episode, but the rest of it deals with non-Hawk stuff so I won't get into it here.  Hopefully we can see more of the Winged Wonder (or Wonders!) next season!
